Just for summer day dresses you need: a gold, a beige/brown, a fun pink, a silver...kitten heels, thongs with the straps (dressier than flip-flops), and then wedges in a neutral and black. :-) Oh and the summer shoes. Bare Essentials makes a nice tinted gloss that you should try. I tried a tester of the lip tar and it's way too intense, a stain, really. I had to use clown makeup remover to get it off. Thanks for your reviews and for reminding me that i am not alone when it comes to struggling with my "beauty" ethical inconsistencies! Comment on Take Your “Feelings” and…. by Ramou http://coyapaz.com/home/2012/01/take-your-feelings-and/#comment-3226 Ramou Sun, 29 Jan 2012 20:39:14 +0000 http://coyapaz.com/home/?p=439#comment-3226 "and while I was a debate team aficionado in my youth, now that I’m old and tired I do not want to have arguments with no foundation in reality." I've been trying to articulate, both to other people and myself, why I have been less vocal or less likely to engage in serious conversations about race for awhile now. This is pretty much it. I'm tired and becoming less and less sure if (White) people are really interested in engaging, or just really eager to tell me about their hurt feelings and why I'm wrong. And I just feel as if I no longer have time for the latter, so it's just easier to leave it to other people - and I do admire those who are willing and able to engage with some of these people. Still working on trying to find that happy space though, glad that you are finding yours. “and while I was a debate team aficionado in my youth, now that I’m old and tired I do not want to have arguments with no foundation in reality.”

Comment on My Child is a Bleeping Vegetarian by Riley http://coyapaz.com/home/2011/08/my-child-is-a-bleeping-vegetarian/#comment-3217 Riley Sat, 28 Jan 2012 15:44:54 +0000 http://coyapaz.com/home/?p=301#comment-3217 CP, I think we as a people aren't very good at talking about dietary choices, because they seem so personal yet projected..as if by person A choosing to be vegetarian or vegan, that automatically becomes a statement about Person B. Even though most vegetarians and vegans I know usually don't preach about it and just pipe up about it to make sure they have an option (though admittedly one can usually find some aspect of veg fare these days). This is an issue I face regularly in trying to cater meetings at work. The catering people don't realize or don't care that veg offerings lack protein sources, so I end up having to augment, punt, or otherwise rig it. I would imagine it gets even more complicated when one is trying to raise a kid vegetarian. In a sense, I'd hope that daycare and friends would support the parental plan in place even if they don't personally believe in it. It sucks that that stuff gets undermined. R. CP,
